Our Travel Adventures - Cruising Fulltime

Welcome to the Adventures of Larry and Connie Farquhar as we cruise fulltime around the world.

New Travel Plans!

It's hard to believe that we've been in Prescott, Arizona for almost a year now. We moved here mid-July, 2020. We bought Larry's parents house and have been busy repairing and upgrading it. Some of the work was contracted out, and we did some of it ourselves. It's been fun. We're finally finished with all of the big projects we had planned.  Here's the major projects we completed: F...

Settled In Arizona

The View Out Our Kitchen WIndow

A lot has happened with us over the past several months. Since the COVID pandemic changed our travel plans, we've been settling down in Arizona. While starting to cleanup Larry's dad's house to sell, we decided to buy it ourselves. After living and traveling full time in a motorhome for the past 16 years, we're homeowners again. We still have the motorhome and will continue to make trips. Currentl...

Our BIG Travels Plans Catch the Virus!

For the past year, Connie and I have been making plans to take our full time RV travel plans to the next level. As Johnny Cash sings, "I've been Everywhere Man". Reading the words in Johnny's song, there's only 5 or 6 places mentioned that we haven't been to (we think). Since we've seen most of the USA, we thought it was time to take our travels to Europe. We have several friends who have or...

Road Trip to Arizona

Mill Creek Corps of Engineer Campground, Berlin Lake, OH

It was time to get to Arizona and help manage my Dad's house. We usually don't like to "rush" anywhere, but it was important we get back to the west soon. We planned a 12-day trip to get from Massachusetts to Arizona. Not really "rushing", but a pretty quick trip for us. Normally, we like to keep our travel days under 5 hours. We also wouldn't be driving everyday. Since we couldn't get our last mi...

Family in Massachusetts

Near Fourth Cliff Recreation Area, MA

When leaving the Gifford Pinchot State Park in Pennsylvania, we had a small problem bringing in a slide-out. We discovered we had a stow-away family tucked up under the awning. Unfortunately, I'm now a home wrecker and baby murderer. One of the eggs broke while I was removing the nest. A couple months ago, we wrote that since Cape Cod cancelled our reservations, we didn't know where we were going....

Exploring Pennsylvania

Gettysburg Battlefield, PA

Before leaving Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania, we made one last day trip out exploring. This turned out to be a fun filled day! While enjoying a beautiful drive on the Pennsylvania country roads, we stumbled upon the "Kings Bridge",  a 127-foot truss covered bridge. Originally built in 1806, it's been renovated about every 100 years since. Very nice and sturdy construction. Later in ...

George Washington's Surrender

Fort Necessity, PA

When May 22nd arrived, the Pennsylvania State Parks opened to camping. We had a 14-day reservation at Ohiopyle State Park, located in the southwestern part of the state. After leaving the little campground in Virginia, we were surprised the GPS took us through West Virginia into Maryland, and finally into Pennsylvania. We didn't mind the four-state drive in a day, we were just surprised. We didn't...

They Cancelled Our Reservation

My New Drone Flying

Over the past couple of months, we've had several campground reservations cancelled on us. We expected this due to campground closures because of the COVID-19 isolation policies. However, recently many states have started to reduce restrictions and many campgrounds (public, government, and military) have started to open again. We still had a reservation at the US Coast Guard station campground at ...

Do We Stay, or Do We Move?

Staying at Joint Base Charleston, SC

We originally planned to be in Charleston, SC for 7 days. We've now been here 53 days, following the self-isolation guidelines. We know we're very lucky to have been able to stay at the military campground here, as we have full hook-ups, free WiFi (we don't use it), shopping near by, and are very secure. They closed the campground shortly after we arrived, but they allowed existing campers to stay...

Living an "Isolated" Life

Joint Base Charleston RV Park, SC

After arriving at the Joint Base Charleston in South Carolina 22 days ago, the COVID-19 situation in the USA got a lot more serious. After only a few days of arriving, we got word that the RV Park was closing. Soon, other military campgrounds, state parks, and federal campgrounds were announcing that they were also closed. This sent our heads spinning. Since we live in our motor home, we needed so...
