Our Travel Adventures - Cruising Fulltime

Welcome to the Adventures of Larry and Connie Farquhar as we cruise fulltime around the world.

Spokane WA and Banff, Alberta, Canada

Spokane Falls, WA

After leaving West Seattle, we made a stop for the night in the quaint Bavarian town of Leavenworth. We enjoyed a little site-seeing and a wonderful German lunch. Nearby, in the town of Cashmere is where the fruity-jelly candy Aplets and Cotlets are made at Liberty Orchards. We had to make a visit to their factory. Of course, we walked away with a few pounds of the jellied candy. Our next destinat...

Western Washington and Alaska!

Cruising to Alaska

After leaving the Tacoma area, we headed further north to Whidbey Island. We had heard so much about the Cliffside RV Park at the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island and had always meant to visit here. We finally made it and this was a great RV Park. VERY well maintained, with manicured landscaping and plenty of flowers. There's lots to do there and the views are fantastic. The weather was perfect fo...

Northern Oregon Into Washington

Westport Lighthouse, WA

After missing three dates that we were told our motorhome would be ready, it was FINALLY ready after midnight on the 4th day. They replaced the Turbo and the VGT. They did allow us to spend the night in front of their gate for the night. How nice of them. From Portland, we headed to the Northern Oregon coast. We wanted to check out the campground at the Camp Rilea Training Facility (Army National ...

Home Is In The Shop

Driving in Southern Oregon

Once our classes were finished, we left Sparks, NV last Thursday (Apr 18). Since then, we started heading towards Portland, OR. We stopped for the night at the Desert Rose Casino in Alturas, CA. Although this was a very small casino, the RV parking was great! Quiet, dark, and away from any trains and roads. Our next stop was intended to be at Kingsley Field ANG Campground in Klamath Falls, OR. How...

Viewing Our Travel Map

Our Travel Map

After spending one night in Tonopah, NV, we got an early start on the road to beat the high winds. Since high winds were still predicted and we got an early start, I decided to just head into Reno and spend the week there. Reno is where we were heading for to attend the CLM Services annual training. Connie and I will be teaching a few classes there, even though we're not working in the campgrounds...

Grand Falls, AZ

After leaving the Petrified Forest National Park, we drove 90 miles to the Twin Arrows Casino and Resort. This is located near the very small town of Winona, about 20 miles east of Flagstaff, AZ. For my exhaust "regeneration" issue, we read somewhere to drive the motorhome like "we were running from the cops". So I did. Well, I drove it at 75mph (the speed limit) for 20 minutes. I usually dri...

Petrified Forest National Park, AZ

Petrified Forest National Park, AZ

We left Bluewater Lake State Park a couple days ago, but it wasn't without issues. Due to the rain, snow and freezing weather, we had some issues getting out: I forgot to preheat the diesel engine, so it didn't want to start. It was in the mid 20's overnight.Due to the cold and playing the radio all week, the motorhome starting battery was very low and went dead almost immediately. The trickle cha...

Playing Tourists in New Mexico, Part 5

El Malpais National Munument, NM

Last Monday, March 25th, we decided to move up north to Bluewater Lake State Park. We knew it was a risk with the weather, but we were looking for new scenery and new adventures. This State Park only has 14 sites with electric, but another 130+ sites without electric. It was a gamble that paid off. Being early-season, the state park was almost empty. There were only a few electric sites taken...

Playing Tourists in New Mexico, Part 4

Fort Craig, New Mexico

After arriving at the Caballo State Park, NM, we got the last electric site. However, it was in the "lower" section by the river. We spent a week there, then moved to the "upper" section above the lake. These are much prettier sites with a better view. Our site overlooking the lake. We spent a week in the "lower" section and another week in the "upper" section. With a 14-day stay limit in a s...
