Our Travel Adventures - Cruising Fulltime

Welcome to the Adventures of Larry and Connie Farquhar as we cruise fulltime around the world.

August 2009 Travel Log

8/20/09 - Jackson Meadow Recreation Area, CA - We have bears! For the past month or so, a bear (or more) have been visiting the campgrounds almost nightly. They're not doing much damage, other than getting into someones food. We are CONSTANTLY educating campers to lock their food up when they are not around. But there's always someone who leaves food out overnight. The bears are starting to get us...

3/22/2009 - Indian Valley Campground, CA: We GREATLY enjoyed our stay at Beale AFB. The campground was in a quiet section of the base. We didn't do much during that week, except relax. Since we're anxious to get started on our summer jobs, we did make a couple day drives to the areas we'll be managing. After a week at Beale AFB, we moved a few days ago to Indian Valley Campground on the Yuba River...

February 2009 Travel Log

2/28/2009 - Seal Beach, CA: Having maintenance done on the Motorhome went pretty smooth. The cruise control repair only took 45 minutes, so we headed directly over to the tire shop. They were able to get us in immediately and took a couple of hours (and $1500). This put us a day ahead of plans. Instead of fighting city traffic, we decided to spend the night at the local Sam's Club parking lot. We ...

Khloe

1/2/2009 - Queen Creek, Arizona: We hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season. We sure did! Larry's dad came down from Prescott, Arizona and spent a few days with us. He brought his motor home and stayed in the same RV Park with us. We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner at Leslie's house. We returned for Christmas morning to see what Santa Claus brought everyone. Having a 2 year old aroun...

Merry Christmas!

12/21/08: Queen Creek, AZ: I've been told that I haven't posted an update on Kaylee's (2 yrs old) surgery. Everything went well and she seems to be happy and active again. Of course, it was a few rough days for her and the parents. Connie and I watched the new baby while Mom and Dad stayed with Kaylee in the hospital. The other big news is Connie finally beat me in a game of racquetball! That make...

November 2008 Travel Log

11/19/08: Queen Creek, AZ:  Other than a long day traveling back home, our return trip from Jamaica went without incident. Connie spent some time watching our grand daughter Kaylee. But our return from vacation was well timed, as just a few days after returning our eldest daughter gave birth to our second grand daughter. Welcome to the world Khloe Mae Smith! Her birth went smooth and all is g...

5 Generations

10/28/2008: Skyline RV Resort, Queen Creek, AZ:Happy Birthday to my lovely wife, Connie! It didn't take long for us to get back into being "grand parents". We baby sat Kaylee the other night. Today, we were woken up early with a frantic call from our daughter to watch Kaylee. The 2 year old has been a bit sick lately and needed to be watched today. Our daughter, Leslie, had already missed enough d...

September 2008 Travel Log

09/17/08: Kinnikinnick Campground, Huntington Lake, CA: I realized I never included a photo of our host site at Kinnikinnick campground. In order to get satellite signals, I needed to move the motor home far forward in the site to clear the trees. Our large satellite dish is actually getting an Internet satellite AND a DirecTV satellite. So it has to be clearing trees in two different directions. ...

Huntington Lake Employee Social

08/10/08: Kinnikinnick Campground, Huntington Lake, CA: Business is as usual around here, except we're all starting to get an "end of season" attitude. Because of this, we're holding a pizza party/meeting to re-motivate the employees and remind them to provide quality customer service to the campers. Sure, we're starting to get burned out and are tired of the few troublesome campers, but we can't ...

July 2008 Travel Log

07/31/08: Kinnikinnick Campground, Huntington Lake, CA: This coming November will be our 30th wedding anniversary. We've decided to treat ourselves and splurge. We've made plans to spend a couple weeks in Jamaica. We've never been there and we got a good deal on an all inclusive package. Since we work all summer, winter is our time to have fun. Okay, between the motor home renovation and this...
