They Cancelled Our Reservation

My New Drone Flying
Over the past couple of months, we've had several campground reservations cancelled on us. We expected this due to campground closures because of the COVID-19 isolation policies. However, recently many states have started to reduce restrictions and many campgrounds (public, government, and military) have started to open again. We still had a reservation at the US Coast Guard station campground at ...

Testing "Follow-Me" and "Watch-Me" Flight Modes

Although I've had my new sUAS (small Unmanned Aerial System, aka Drone) for 3 months, I finally decided to test the "Follow-Me" and "Watch-Me" flight modes. All worked very well. These flight modes work as follows: Follow-Me - The sUAS follows the GPS signal from the tablet or phone, keeping the subject in the center of the video screen. Teslin Lake Campground, Yukon, Canada

Teslin Lake, Yukon Territory, Canada
Here's a short aerial video of Teslin Lake Government Campground in the Yukon Territory, Canada. I filmed this with my 3DR Iris+ quadcopter (drone), using a GoPro Hero 3+ camera. The Drone kept wanting to adjust itself to remain in the correct locat...

Burns Lake Municipal Campground, B.C., Canada

Burns Lake, B.C, Canada
During our return trip from Alaska, we stopped for the night at the Burns Lake Municipal Campground in British Columbia, Canada. This is a free city operated campground on the lake. There's a 3 night stay limit. This is a very nice little park. We arrived around 2:00pm and were the only campers there. There's about 7 sites available, and room for a couple more RV's in the parking lot. A few hours ...

Telemetry Displayed on Aerial Video

Drone Telemetry
I was learning and testing the use of Dashware software with APM telemetry logs synced and overlapped on an aerial video. This video was shot at a overnight stop near Destruction Bay in British Columbia, Canada. Filmed using a 3DRobotics Iris+ and GoPro Hero 3+. Dashware lets you read a telemetry data file and sync it with a video. You can then overlay "gauges" on your video to show the telemetry ...
