Visiting Minnesota and Iowa

Lake Superior North Shore Scenic Drive, MN

Wow! We've picked up the pace and have visited many places in these past couple of weeks! After the Corps of Engineer park near Minot, ND, we moved further east to Grand Forks AFB and stayed in their nice FamCamp (Family Campground). This is a quiet campground located in a back portion of the base. It's the kind of place we enjoy staying at. During our 3-day stay here, we visited the Ronald Reagan...

Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Site, ND

Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile Museum

While visiting Malmstrom AFB, in Montana, I visited their on-base museum. Malmstrom AFB's mission is now only to maintain 150 Minuteman III missiles. When I first started in the US Air Force, my first assignment was to F.E. Warren AFB, whose only mission is also to maintain 150 Minuteman Missiles. Hanging Out in North Dakota

Scandinavian Heritage Park

We got lucky! The weather cleared up and we had a perfect afternoon and evening for the Pitchfork Fondue and the Medora Musical. The food at the Pitchfork Fondue was pretty good. The Medora Musical was next doo...

Glacier National Park, MT

Glacier National Park, MT

After leaving the Rexford Bench USFS Campground near Eureka, MT, we headed to the Sundance RV Park in Coram, MT. Even at $45 a night, it was one of the least expensive RV parks near the west entrance to Glacier National Park. Not a great RV Park, but it worked fine for our needs. We were only a few miles from the West side of Glacier National Park. The famous "Going to the Sun" road wasn't ye...

Spokane WA and Banff, Alberta, Canada

Spokane Falls, WA

After leaving West Seattle, we made a stop for the night in the quaint Bavarian town of Leavenworth. We enjoyed a little site-seeing and a wonderful German lunch. Nearby, in the town of Cashmere is where the fruity-jelly candy Aplets and Cotlets are made at Liberty Orchards. We had to make a visit to their factory. Of course, we walked away with a few pounds of the jellied candy. Our next destinat...
