Our Travel Adventures - Cruising Fulltime

Welcome to the Adventures of Larry and Connie Farquhar as we cruise fulltime around the world.

Our Alaska Adventure Ends - Weeks 14 and 15

Tok Alaska was our last night staying in Alaska but it would not be our last visit to Alaska. SInce Larry was having problems with his leased server crashing every few days, he wanted to get back to the lower 48 to get this issue resolved. He needed fast, reliable Internet access. Our return trip through Canada was a little quicker than originally planned. We crossed into Canada's Yukon Territory ...

Family Visit and Winchester Bay, Oregon

After returning back to the "lower 48", we stayed at the Angel of the Winds Casino on Aug 27th for the night (free, 48.215229, -122.183998) again. This was the same casino we stayed at before going into Canada. They've recently created a new dry camping area on the northern parking lot. Food is still good there. We then headed to Burien, WA and stayed at the Elks Lodge RV Park for 2 weeks (Aug 28t...

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Dear Family & Friends, 2015 was a banner year for us and we would like to share some of the highlights we had. Though 2015 didn’t start out so wonderful for Larry, January found us in our annual spot of Quartzsite AZ. We enjoy gathering with our RV friends to spend a couple of weeks in the desert. We had just arrived and Larry was putting up the solar panels when he fell off a ladder and...

Friends and Family In Quartzsite, AZ

Almost every year, we stay in Quartzsite AZ with friends from the "Boomers" group, a part of the Escapees RV Club. This year, Larry's brother Kenny and Mary with their granddaughter Lily came to camp with us for a few days. In addition, friends Joanie and Steve stopped by for the night and friends Alan and Silvana camped with us for over a week. Aerial video taken on January 23rd, 2016 with a 3D R...

Time Flies

I'm finally caught up and motivated to sit down to catch you up on our travels. When last we spoke, we were in Winchester Bay, Oregon.... (Sept 27-Oct 2) From there we proceeded south along the Oregon coast to Brookings, OR. There is an Elks Lodge we had been to before and we figured this was a good place to catch up on chores and to go see some BIG trees. Having spent two weeks boondocking we had...

Boondocking at the Trona Pinnacles

After leaving Seal Beach, CA, Connie and I headed to the Mojave desert for some peace and quiet away from the Los Angeles traffic. We had 2 weeks before we needed to be in the Sequoia National Forest for a manager's meeting for this summer's seasonal work. We had heard about boondocking (dry-camping) at the Trona Pinnacles on BLM managed land. So we decided to check it out. Located about 20 miles ...

Biosphere 2, Arizona

Biosphere 2 near Oracle, AZ

We stayed in Quartzsite for only 20 days this year. When we left on February 5th, we decided to spend the next couple of months in southern New Mexico. We stopped for 3 days at the Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ family campground. This RV Park gets very busy during the winter months, as "snow birds" migrate south away from the cold snow. We were fine with staying in their dry-camp area. During our brief vi...

Playing Tourist in New Mexico, Part 1

Fort Bayard Officers Row, circa 1910

While staying at the Pancho Villa State Park in New Mexico, we spent the last 12 days relaxing, working a bit on the computers, and playing tourists. One day, we had a few road-runners chasing each other for hours. I think the female was going to eventually loose that battle. The state park has a nice, small museum explaining what happened in March 1916 with the raid by Mexican General "Pancho" Vi...

Playing Tourist in New Mexico, Part 2

Our site at Elephant Butte State Park, NM

We've been fairly busy here at Elephant Butte State Park near Truth or Consequences in New Mexico. We got a nice site looking out over the lake, in the distance. There's plenty of "dry-camping" available, either in a developed site or just out in the desert. Some people are even camping out on long sandy points, just a few feet from the water. When we got here a couple weeks ago, it was getting do...
