Our Travel Adventures - Cruising Fulltime

Welcome to the Adventures of Larry and Connie Farquhar as we cruise fulltime around the world.

Viewing Our Travel Map

After enjoying a New Year's Eve party in Yuma, and finishing up with dental work, we departed the Yuma Army Proving Grounds on January 11th. Our next stop was only 90 miles away. One of those much talked about RV events/destinations is Quartzsite, AZ. This small desert town near the Arizona/California border on I-10 comes to life each winter. Normally, there's only a population of about 500 reside...

A Month in Europe - What it Cost

Connie spends hours on Facebook and keeps her posting's there current. I was hoping she would also start using our own "Blog", but it looks like a lost cause. So it's up to me to "try" and keep this blog current. For the past few months, we've been having fun. Let's see if I can remember all that we've been doing: October: After leaving our summer jobs, we headed to Casa Grande for Conni...

Beer, Chocolate, and Waffles, Oh My!

Our summer job working in the Inyo National Forest, CA has come to an end. We left Mammoth Lakes a couple days ago and made our way to Casa Grande, AZ. We'll be here for about a week, then move to Apache Junction, AZ for the next month. After workamping every summer for the past 10 years, we're taking next summer off working full time to travel to Alaska. We've been working with California La...

Slowly Moving East into North Dakota

This is an update to the previous update Connie wrote. Would you believe that wasn't the end of being attacked by squirrels? We ended up "eliminating" 3 squirrels and a chipmunk INSIDE of the motor home. They had chewed through the heater ducting again AND through more furnace wiring! I had just repaired the damage and was putting it all back together again, when I heard a %$#@! squirrel in the he...

Time Flies

I forgot to tell you about our last weekend. We took a drive south, again, to Lone Pine. We had recommendations to check out the Film Museum, of which we did. $5 per person donation and it was a very nice little museum. Not real big but sure had a lot of stuff in it. Oh so many movies and shows have been filmed in the Alabama Hills over the last 90 years. Hop-along Cassidy, The Lone Ranger, Gunga ...

Happy Holidays!

I just realized we didn't update you with the rodent attack. We found out it was a squirrel that had done all the damage to the heater. We had seen and heard this squirrel around the motor home, jumping from the tree onto the roof running across, jumping onto the awning into another tree, dropping his pine cones from the trees and hitting the motor home, you know, being a real pain. We suspected t...

10 years already!

Happy Anniversary to us! 10 years ago today we pulled away from our sticks & brick home to start our new life on the road. Still so much to see and experience. We have met so many people and made so many new friends since we have been traveling. Looking forward to seeing what the next 10 years has in store for us. If anyone is interested in our story, read our "How it all started" and "Countdo...

Settled In Arizona

We have a heavy heart today. We lost our precious Grandma Cappie. She would have been 100 years old the end of October. I have so many loving memories being with her; standing on a stool and stirring and spooning out the cookie dough, playing on the piano, ironing the handkerchiefs and pillow cases, homemade ice cream (she LOVED ice cream!) Easter egg coloring parties.... No set date for the Celeb...

Lake George, Lake Barrett and TJ Lake

Happy Labor Day and thank you to all the hard working people who help make our lives a little easier. We haven't heard any negative reports from our area managers so I think all in all the busy, last hurrah of the summer, went off without a hitch and today was mass exodus for our campers. It was a beautiful day, it's our day off, let's go! We spent yesterday doing chores. As you know, Larry fixed ...
