Here's a short video show with a variety of photos taken during our first 2 weeks of our 2015 RV adventure to Alaska. These were taken in British Columbia and the Yukon Territory of Canada.
From our last post we were still in Fairbanks for another 5 days. We didn't sit around doing nothing, we knew of some Boomer RV friends who were coming into Fairbanks and we arranged a trip to Chena Hot Springs, which is about 50 miles northeast of Fairbanks (July 29). During our return trip from Alaska, we stopped for the night at the Burns Lake Municipal Campground in British Columbia, Canada. This is a free city operated campground on the lake. There's a 3 night stay limit. This is a very nice little park. We arrived around 2:00pm and were the only campers there. "Boomers" are a sub-group of the Escapees RV Club. Each year, the Boomers get together in late January for their annual "Boomerang". They claim a corner of the desert near Quartzsite, AZ for two weeks for this annual rally. One of our favorite RV boondocking locations is near Borrego Springs, CA. (33.296993, -116.28595) This is free camping a few miles from town. It's fairly quiet here and we can get 3G Verizon. If you like the desert, there's plenty of hiking and 4WD trails in the area. Friends had told us about some "rock art" in the hills near where we camped. Connie and I have been spending the past few weeks at the Naval Weapons Station in Seal Beach, CA. The Navy has a great RV Park on base. Connie and I have started our summer jobs in the White River National Forest in Colorado. This is our 10th year working with CLM Services. It's a great company to work for. Larry's an "Operations Manager" again and Connie is his "Administrative Assistant". We'll be here for about 5-6 months. The other day, our rear gas furnace stopped working after a few minutes. The next time we used it, I realized it wasn't putting out any heat. During our days off, I thought I'd better take a look at it, before it gets real cold here.
