Welcome to the Adventures of Larry and Connie Farquhar as we cruise fulltime around the world.

March 2008 Travel Log

03/23/08: Livingston, TX: Happy Easter! No problems getting our 7th day free at Fort Sam Houston. We then moved toward Livingston and stopped in Katy, TX for the night. The wind was blowing extremely hard and I was ready to get off the road. We spent one night at the Katy Elks lodge and had an electric hook-up. We then continued the next day in strong winds to Livingston. Connie wasn't feeling goo...

February 2008 Travel Log

02/19/08: Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ: While staying at Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek, a remote control glider plane club came in for the weekend. They filled the campground and hundreds of participants and guests came in for the weekend. It appeared to be a large competition. I believe the goal was to launch their gliders (no engines) and keep them flying for the longest time then land in a targeted are...

January 2008 Travel Log

01/31/08: Quartzsite, AZ: Oops! I let the website fall behind again. After leaving Mittry Lake, we spent a week in a RV Park near Brenda, AZ visiting friends. This is a couple we work with during the summers. We just lounged around for the week and started reading a bunch more. We then moved to our desert boondocking location outside of Quartzsite, AZ. We were joined by over a couple hundred Escap...

Grand Daughter Khloe

12/31/07: Mittry Lake, Yuma, AZ: Hope you had a happy holiday! Don't send me hate mail because I didn't wish you a "Merry Christmas". Between the various websites I operate, I have about 25,000 visitors a month. I doubt everyone is a Christian and celebrates Christmas. We had a wonderful lunch with Larry's old boss, Gene and Patti Tolle. It's always fun to catch up on what's happening in each othe...

November 2007 Travel Log

11/15/07: Monterey, CA: After leaving Travis AFB, we stopped in Pleasanton, CA to visit with Bob and Nancy Colvert, more Boomer friends, who are managing a Christmas Tree lot for the holiday season. We dry-camped in their lot, which they're still setting up. We enjoyed a fun little potluck dinner together and catching up on travel stories. We then headed to Monterey, CA, where we're currently loca...

Travis AFB FamCamp

10/29/07: Travis AFB FamCamp, CA: After we left the SKP park a week ago, we went into the town of Manteca, CA to get some minor RV repair work accomplished. The most serious problem we had was our generator had stopped working. While there, we also planned to get a leaking ice maker repaired. For over a year, we've had the water turned off on the ice maker and were periodically filling it with a c...

September 2007 Travel Log

Huntington Lake, CA

09/24/07: Huntington Lake, Sierra NF, CA: We're counting down until we move to warmer weather. It's been getting below freezing each night and we've had a little snow. Although, 11" was predicted for a couple days ago, we only got a dusting. We've moved our motor home to another host site. Yippee! This site is allowing us to have satellite Internet coverage. This means you can see our location on ...

August 2007 Travel Log

08/21/07: Huntington Lake, Sierra NF, CA: We elected to work this summer at Huntington Lake, CA, partly because it was near Yosemite and the Sequoia's. We visited Yosemite a couple months ago, and took the past couple days to visit the Sequoia National Park. It was another enjoyable "mini" vacation, with dining out and staying in a hotel. We deserve it! The Sequoia trees are HUGE! Although the par...

July 2007 Travel Log

07/17/07: Huntington Lake, Sierra NF, CA: Time is starting to fly (slip) by now. We can't believe how fast these past two weeks have gone. Perhaps this can be attributed to how busy we've started getting. Weekdays are still mellow, but the weekends are crazy! Our campgrounds have been almost 100% full on the weekends. Since we're also mainly "first come - first serve" on campsite selection, we're ...

June 2007 Travel Log

06/12/07: Huntington Lake, Sierra NF, CA: One of the main reason's we select a specific area to work for the season is to enjoy the local area. While here, we wanted to visit Yosemite National Park and the Sequoia National Forest, both a couple hours away (in opposite directions). We're just finishing our 2 days off this week, but we made a mini vacation to Yosemite. We left the motorhome and orig...
