Our Travel Adventures - Cruising Fulltime

Welcome to the Adventures of Larry and Connie Farquhar as we cruise fulltime around the world.

The Dragon at Borrego Springs, CA.

A quick flyby of the Dragon at Borrego Springs, CA. Artist Ricardo Breceda has created numerous metal sculptures and placed many of them around Borrego Springs, CA. This is only a quick, short view of a large dragon crossing the road. Filmed using my 3D Robotics Solo.

Boondocking in Borrego Springs, CA

After leaving Quartzsite, AZ, we spent a few nights at the Fortuno Del Oro RV Park in Yuma, AZ. We had picked up a coupon for 3 free nights with full hook-ups.Nice deal! While in Yuma for a few days, we made our annual trek into Los Algadones, Mexico for dental care. Luckily, not much was required this year. We also picked up some fresh shrimp and a couple bottles of Almond Tequila (yum). Normally...

After two weeks boondocking in the desert outside of Quartzsite, AZ, we're about ready to raise the jacks and move to Yuma, AZ. But we'll still be here for a couple more days. We recently picked up a coupon for a free 3-night stay in a RV Park in Yuma. While there, we'll head across the border into Las Algadones, Mexico for a dentistry checkup and cleaning. Testing "Follow-Me" and "Watch-Me" Flight Modes

Although I've had my new sUAS (small Unmanned Aerial System, aka Drone) for 3 months, I finally decided to test the "Follow-Me" and "Watch-Me" flight modes. All worked very well. These flight modes work as follows: Follow-Me - The sUAS follows the GPS signal from the tablet or phone, keeping the subject in the center of the video screen. I used my Samsung Galaxy S2 tablet inside of the Jeep and dr...

Time Flies

I'm finally caught up and motivated to sit down to catch you up on our travels. When last we spoke, we were in Winchester Bay, Oregon.... (Sept 27-Oct 2) From there we proceeded south along the Oregon coast to Brookings, OR. There is an Elks Lodge we had been to before and we figured this was a good place to catch up on chores and to go see some BIG trees. Having spent two weeks boondocking we had...

Family Visit and Winchester Bay, Oregon

After returning back to the "lower 48", we stayed at the Angel of the Winds Casino on Aug 27th for the night (free, 48.215229, -122.183998) again. This was the same casino we stayed at before going into Canada. They've recently created a new dry camping area on the northern parking lot. Food is still good there. We then headed to Burien, WA and stayed at the Elks Lodge RV Park for 2 weeks (Aug 28t...

Telemetry Displayed on Aerial Video

Drone Telemetry

I was learning and testing the use of Dashware software with APM telemetry logs synced and overlapped on an aerial video. This video was shot at a overnight stop near Destruction Bay in British Columbia, Canada. Filmed using a 3DRobotics Iris+ and GoPro Hero 3+. Dashware lets you read a telemetry data file and sync it with a video. You can then overlay "gauges" on your video to show the telemetry ...

Burns Lake Municipal Campground, B.C., Canada

Burns Lake, B.C, Canada

During our return trip from Alaska, we stopped for the night at the Burns Lake Municipal Campground in British Columbia, Canada. This is a free city operated campground on the lake. There's a 3 night stay limit. This is a very nice little park. We arrived around 2:00pm and were the only campers there. There's about 7 sites available, and room for a couple more RV's in the parking lot. A few hours ...

Aerial Video of Williwaw Campground

Before heading to Seward, AK, we made a 4 day stop in the Portage Valley. Since I had some time, I took some aerial videos of the nearby area, including Byron Glacier, Middle Glacier, Portage Lake, and the Williwaw USFS campground we were staying in. The weather was great and I couldn't pass up the opportunity! Hope you enjoy the show! I also started to learn more about "aerial mapp...
